While heavier yet festively adorned scarves always make for practical wardrobe staples during fall/winter, the scarf is one accessory that has often been overlooked in recent spring seasons.  This is absolutely not so for spring 2013.  Big names like Burberry, Dolce & Gabanna, and Ralph Lauren among many others turned to scarves as their stand out accessory for their fashion week spring 2013 runway shows.

From prints like bright feminine florals and cool muted geometrics  to boldy colored solids, designers are serving up just about anything you might be looking for in a scarf this spring.  Those who dread the annual shedding of the plaid each year simply because the days of pumpkin spice lattes and faux fur lined boots are passé' are in luck this season too.  Pastel and citrus-toned plaids can be found on store shelves within all price ranges from target, to jcp, to bloomies and beyond.

Variety can be found in more ways than one when it comes to trendy scarf looks for 2013.  While the classic muffled wrap around is still an undeniable favorite, designers kept things interesting this season by using scarves as hairpieces, fastening them in shorter crisp French inspired knots, and continuing to highlight the juxtaposed ease and sophistication of the turban.  For some more how-to-wear-it scarf tips, you might want to check out Playing with Scarves by fashion industry veteran Anne Touraine.

No matter what your style, finding the perfect go-to scarf this season should be a fairly easy endeavor.  The scarf is quite possibly might be the most versatile accessory of all time, so feel free to style it with both casual weekend looks and for the office as well.  Picking up a few of this season's selections can really help you maximize the most of your current wardrobe.
