Jewelry Designer Alex Woo has taken inspiration from one of the cutest concepts we can think of for her latest endeavor - a mother and cub cat. Alex's usual pieces which include numbers, letters, and other small charms have been featured in top publications like InStyle, People Magazine, among many others.

Woo's new mother and cub cat design was inspired directly by true mother/cub stories from the Disney movie African Cats which is opening in theatres this Friday. The pendent also celebrates the 50th anniversary of the African Wildlife foundation and a healthy portion of the proceeds will go to aiding the foundation - 20 % to be specific.

Alex Woo's Mother and Cub pendant will be available in 14k gold or sterling silver and retails from $138 to $2,298.

Disney's African Cats was directed by Keith Scholey and Alastair Fothergill, and is said to capture the real-life love, humor and determination of the majestic kings of the savanna. The film is narrated by Oscar-nominated actor Samuel L. Jackson. You can check it out this Earth Day, April 22, 2011.
