Runway Report: Long Medallions, Bright Chains Rock the Anna Sui Show
Designer Anna Sui has been has been giving bland bread and butter fashion a run for its money since the early 80's. While keeping her down to earth sensibilities, Anna Sui has rocked fashion worldwide with her unique blend of gothic yet sweet stylings - making her a personal favorite of women all over who like to have a little more depth in their wardrobe. Anna Sui has been known for years for her unexpected combinations of elements that still remain oh so wearable.
Sui's runway accessories are admittedly sometimes not just for the average shopper, but we think it would be a pity for a girl (or boy for that matter) not to find a way to work the accessories seen in her recent Fall 2011 Ready to Wear show into her wardrobe. In a time where bold brights are all the rage and European styles are heavily on the radar, Anna Sui's choice of jewelry in the recent show in entirely on trend. A twist was put on the semi-classic long medalion necklace as touches of bright color were added to chain and pendants (showing up in maltese cross patterns, an element consistant with Anna's signature lightly gothic style). Other accessories of choice included richly colored industrially chunky chains worn as draping necklaces and layered bracelets - something we should be seeing quite a bit of in the coming seasons.
