The Top 10 Fashion Trends You either Loved or Hated in 2010

As 2011 is just a few hours away, we look back at some of the trends you may have had a love/hate relationshiop with in 2010.  Whether you're referrings to Spring/Summer 2010 or Fall/Winter 2010, the year was certainly marked by a heightened awareness of fashion everywhere as famous fashion bloggers have taken the stage and spread the word making the joys of fashion accessible at the click of a mouse.  Without further ado, we present you with some of the trends that made their way to the streets in 2010...trends we loved to love and/or hate...as well as what we foresee to come in 2011!

1. Granny Chic
Oh etsy, boy have you had an influence.  From crocheted scarves to wearing knits with polkadots and everything in between, the Granny Chic trend could be seen from the girl who is oh so metro to the small town girl who learned to knit at 5 years old.  Think loafers and silk kneehighs with a blouse and shaw.  You like?

2. Statement Jewelry
We know people who only watched the 6 O'Clock news in 2010 just to see what statement necklace their favorite news casters were styled with on a given evening.  The statement jewelry trend has certainly been one we've been in love with, although we must admit it has cautioned us to become more aware of the difference between guady and gorgeous.

3. Faux Fur
Faux fur made it's way straight from the Prada runway to Forever 21 this year.  You've got to make your own call on this trend!

4. Millitary Wear
We appreciate what the millitary wear trend has done for both men and women in 2010.  As much as we love our blousy sweaters and slouchy boots, few will deny the sex appeal of tailored wear, and who could do tailored wear better than the millitary?

5. Sky High Boots
Love them, hate them?  Love to look at them, hate to wear them?  Thigh high boots were in our faces in 2010 whether you liked it or not!

6. Victorian and Lace
Victorian boots began trending in the search engines somewhere around October 2010.  We don't think its going to stop anytime really soon.  We're bound to see more lady like victorian wear in the coming months.  We do see it as tough for women over 18 to commit to lace dresses.

7. Bows and Bejeweled Headwear
A bow on a ring, an oversized bow on a hat or headband.  Seemed that women decked the halls throughout 2010 with festive bows.  A close relative to the festive bow trend - bejeweled or bowed festive headware.

8. Animal Inspired Prints
Pretty sure these are just not going to go away.  Let's look at them as fashion's guiltiest pleasure.  What woman doesn't feel sexy in a cat inspired print.  Leopard and reptile inspired prints were it in 2010.  It seems that we left the zebra and giraffe off the ark to stay in 2009.

9. Florals
This one stuck more to Spring/Summer 2010 even though trend forecasts had predicted fall and winter florals to be all the rage.  We're going to go ahead and say the mainstream woman is still uncomfortable with wearing white after labor day...and flowers too.

10. Boyfriend Blazers
Although this trend graced runways on women who looked of a slightly seasoned age, boyfriend blazers were seen most on Nickolodeon or the Disney Channel in 2010.  White tank, boyfriend blazer, super short mini...serious jail bait.  Why?  Well, as much as women over 20 tried to wear this trend, we think it seemed as though they just couldnt quite pull it off.

Happy New Year from Jewelry Dose Daily!!!  We truly appreciate you sticking with us.

And if you ask JDD, when it comes to the most "unexpected" trend we'll (on the streets, runway aside as they've so been there done that by now) see a whole lot of in 2011, we're going to go with.

VELVET!

We also feel we'll be seeing more tribal/ethnically inspired wear, more geometric/futuristic wear, and a bit more of the steampunk/victorian trend.

i pretty much love all trends except for the bow and floral ones. love the victorian boots and thigh highs. ive always gone for really tall boots, and now i can wear them without people saying i look like a stripper! hah just kidding. i love the military look, for real. faux fur is cool with me because it doesnt represent the slaughter of animals like with real fur. granny chic.. hated that. but what i really hated the most was definitely the romper trend. why do you want to look like your living in the 90s? i dont get it. ok this is rambly so ill stop writing now. ;P
