Tiffany and Company to Release Handbag and Glove Line

In its first so called "full fledged accessories line ever," world favorite luxury jeweler Tiffany and Co. will be releasing several little luxe handbags.  The company has teamed up with handbag designers John Truex and Richard Lambertson to create a line of handbags that, from what we can tell by previews, combine prim and proper classic bag body (not body bag) styles with modern solid coloring and unexpected handles (sometimes even animal print).  The staple across the line? - a classic Tiffany's turquoise blue interior in silk.  Many of the designs are inspired past Tiffany's classics from the company's design archives.

New York based duo Truex and Lambertson have been designing handbags since 1998 for their own company which was bought out by Tiffany in May 2009, shortly after the handbag company filed for bankruptcy.  "It was not a low point, but another chapter of our amazing journey," the designers told the San Francisco Gate in an admirably enthusiastic spin. The two are now focusing on their design craft working for Tiffany without the interuptions that come from heading up a business.

The new collections for Tiffany will also include gloves which premiered shortly before the holidays.  You can check out some of the new selections at Tiffanys online or in 12 Tiffany locations across the country.  Vegans can cringe in unison as we note the new bags and gloves are reportedly constructed of exotic skins and leathers.  Prices will range from about $100 to $10,000 and up.

I must say that the exotic skin wallets and purses look great. I would never buy one, though. I love LIVING reptiles more than murdered ones. ;P

I do wear leather though so I'm looking forward to those gloves!!!
