Land of Odds Holds Ugly Necklace Contest

Jewelry Dose Daily can thank super blogger Wendy Brandes for introducing us to this one.  Land of Odds which happens to be a unique wholesale bead and finding website (designers check it out), has hosted one of the....best? scariest? (I'm not sure what to write here) design contests we've ever seen.

Their annual International Ugly Necklace Contest is actually much more entertaining than the wildly subjective world's ugliest dog contest.  The Ugly Necklace entries are simply...unnatural!  Materials used are endless but range from rotting garbage to naked barbie dolls, ill placed lace, and fake eye balls.  Something about the whole thing screams Heatherette gone rotten.

To make matters even more aestetically unpleasant prize amounts are awarded in odd numbers.  First prize scores you a $992.93 shopping spree and as a runner up you'll pick up a strange $399.07.  Try spending these amounts without going over or under.  It could drive a budget shopper absolutely mad.  Deadlines are quite random as well...so if you're looking for a no holds barred way to let out your thoughts on all that is wrong in the world go to the website and enter, but if assymmetry gives you the bed spins avert thine eyes.
